Jennifer Meyer was a huge fan of Tobey Maguires Spider-Man (who wasnt, in fairness?) and probably wasnt the only woman to fantasise about kissing her friendly neighbourhood web slinger as he hung suspended upside down in a rainy alleyway. The films director Sam Raimi admitted in an interview that Maguire had a thing going on with his co-star Kirtsen Dunst, but after it wrapped the pair went their separate ways. Meyer was given her chance to be a real life Mary Jane when she asked a friend working on 2003s Seabiscuit to introduce her to Maguire, who was starring in Gary Rosss adaptation of the classic novel about an undersized, overachieving racehorse. Maguire agreed to the meeting, and was glad that he did, hitting it off with the talented jewellery designer immediately. The pair announced their engagement three years after that in April 2006 and Meyer gave birth to their daughter Ruby Sweetheart Maguire seven months later, capping the fairy tale she admitted that she was always chasing: "It's easy to romanticise the process of manifesting your dream but I do believe that with a lot of work and focus they actually come true."
