10 Irritating Stereotypes You Meet In Every Office
8. The Moron
Also Known As: The Idiot, The Simpleton, The Boss's NephewIdentifying Traits: Complete, total, utter ineptitude. The Moron has a job in your office for reasons that do not involve merit. His presence is a constant reminder to you and your colleagues that it's much easier to succeed through nepotism than by being competent or qualified. The most unique thing about The Moron is that no one's exactly sure what his job is supposed to be. The only matters of certitude are 1) that he doesn't do it, and 2) that he makes more money than you. Native Habitat: Everywhere but his desk or work station. Some days, The Moron may be sent out for coffee and return four hours later with no coffee in his possession, whereupon no questions will be asked about what he was doing in the interim. At other times, he can be seen aimlessly wandering the halls or lounging in the break room playing Angry Birds on his cell phone. Career Trajectory: The Moron is virtually guaranteed to enjoy upward mobility throughout his professional life, so long as his benefactors remain in positions of influence within the organisation. In all likelihood, he'll be the guy who signs your paychecks one day.
