Fred Jones, the leader of the mystery-solving Scooby Gang (long before the term became associated with Joss Whedon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer), has appeared in every incarnation of the Scooby-Doo franchise, and generally he's dressed to the nines and rocking that curious-looking ascot. It should also be pointed out that Fred often ignores or seems oblivious to the obvious romantic overtures from the beautiful Daphne, despite always teaming up with her when the group splits up to solve mysteries.
