10 Lesser Known Stephen King Villains

Patrick Hockstetter isn't like other kids from Derry. There are the 'normal' kids, the kids who make up the Losers' Club, and the kids who make up Henry Bowers' gang. Hockstetter is a unique child in Derry, and even regarded with revulsion and fear by town bully Bowers himself.

His hobbies include arts and crafts, collecting dead flies in his pencil case, and torturing small animals. The most heinous act he committed is no doubt the murder of his baby brother Avery, who he suffocated after becoming fed up with his crying, receiving his meals later than usual, and the fact he drew his parents' attention away from him.

Interestingly, Hockstetter is analogous to Pennywise itself, the shape-shifting monster that terrorised Derry for centuries. Both are psychopathic, solipsistic beings threatened by changes in circumstance. Unfortunately for Hockstetter, Pennywise saw him as just another source of food, using its shape-shifting ability to change into a swarm of flying leeches that drained the boy of his blood before feeding on him.
