10 Most Bizarre Literature Conspiracy Theories

6. Illuminati Symbolism In The LOTR Trilogy

It would be remiss of us to not mention the Illuminati in some capacity. In conspiracy lore, everything eventually leads to the Illuminati. They are the dark forces at the heart of everything bad in this world. And in spite of their uber-clandestine existence, they choose to hide in plain sight, with symbols of their existence adorning everything from banknotes and buildings to celebrity tattoos. So it€™s completely natural that the works of the most celebrated authors would be littered with references to their nefarious powers. Tolkien is one such author, and his Lord of the Rings trilogy a veritable urtext of Illuminati intents. The eye of Sauron apparently represents the Illuminati€™s own all-seeing eye. The Tolkien island of Numenor has five corners, just like a pentagram. Gandalf apparently represents the occultist Alesteir Crowley, and Frodo an aspirant aiming for initiation into the world of black magic. Then there€™s Tolkien himself, who plenty believed to be €“ along with fellow writer CS Lewis €“ members of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, a secret society devoted to magical mischief. And the reason he wrote his epic novels was to initiate the public towards the upcoming Illuminati apocalypse. All allegedly, of course.
