10 Most Embarrassing Presidential Nicknames In History

10. "Tricky Dick" - Richard Nixon

Nixon Simpsons Gif The 37th President of the United States, Richard Nixon served from 1969 until 1974 - before he was forced to become the first ever person to resign the office of the presidency following the Watergate Scandal. Unfortunately for Nixon, this was not the only time he was accused of devious dealings - and that is why, alongside being called "Richard the Chicken-Hearted", "Gloomy Gus" and "The Boss", he was also nicknamed "Tricky Dick" (which, yes, carry with them obvious connotations of male genitalia). This nickname was first attributed to him over allegations that he had tried to fix the 1950 election for the Senate seat in California. The Democratic Party ran an ad saying: "Look at 'Tricky Dick' Nixon's Republican Record." Once the Watergate story broke, obviously this nickname became even more widespread.
