10 Most-Feared Secret Police Forces In History

8. Central Office Of Banditry Repression - Central African Republic

The name, Central Office of Banditry Repression (OCRB), tells you straight away that this secret police force was entirely uncompromising - and they ruled the Central African Republic with an iron fist. In the early 1990s, the Central Africa Republic was rife with bandits and looters, so the government acted by introducing the OCRB - a police force based on a French agency. Trials were almost non-existent for the suspected criminals who the OCRB captured, but torture was an almost ever-present in all cases. In fact, Le Café method of torture was perfected by the OCRB - with suspects beaten to within an inch of their life before being forced to walk extended distances. The OCRB committed a whole host of crimes themselves, but they have never been punished for them. But, to be fair, it's hard to imagine who could make such a savage police force face justice, isn't it?
