10 Most Intriguing Unsolved Murders Of All Time

9. The Cleveland Torso Murderer

Also known as The Mad Butcher, The Cleveland Torso Murderer is responsible for killing and dismembering 12 men and women in Cleveland, Ohio in the 1930's. His victims were from a lower-class background, often living in shanty towns, which meant that like the killer himself, they were never identified. Most of the decapitated bodies were found in an area called Kingsbury Run, a local wasteland, which is what linked the victims together. One of the suspects in this case was Dr. Francis E. Sweeney, who was interviewed by Elliott Ness, the lead investigator in this case and failed two polygraph tests but escaped charge as there was no more evidence linking him to the murders. The Cleveland Torso Murders have also been linked with the notorious Black Dahlia murder.
