In the early 1900's, X-Rays were used to remove unwanted hair, despite some practitioners knowing the risks.

Albert Geyser invented the Tricho machine, which required a woman would sit with her face on a chin holder for 4 minutes and the radioactive waves would remove any hair she had on her chin and lips. It sounded wonderful to the women on the street of course, but little did they know that they would have to pay a terrible price in their old-age.

By the 1970's numerous amounts of women who went for the X-Ray hair removal were diagnosed with radiation-induced cancer.

Perhaps waxing isn't so bad after all?
