For those of who dont know, Left Shark was the backing dancer on the left to Katy Perry when she performed at the Super Bowl this year. Left Shark shot to viral fame after it was realised that his dancing was really quite poor. Left Shark jokes ensued, and the guy sort of became famous overnight . However, it looks like Katy Perry got a bit over excited this week when she tried and failed to get the Left Shark trademark. Her hope was to sell merchandise of the clumsy dancer but the U.S Trademark Office rejected her request, saying not enough people would immediately make the connection. How embarrassing. So now anyone can do what they want with Left Shark. Go wild!
