10 Problems Only Skateboarders Will Understand

7. Hearing Avril Lavigne€™s Dire Song Everywhere You Go

€œHe was a skater boy, she said see you later boy.€ This wretched song seems to follow you around, with people who clearly think they are the funniest people in existence bursting into Avril Lavigne€™s irritating song whenever they hear the distinct noise of skateboard wheels. It is not cool and it is not original. It is a needless and repetitive attempt to make an increasingly old song relevant. For some unexplainable reason Sk8er Boi appears to be the only pop culture reference to skateboarding that the mainstream population is capable of remembering, even though Marty McFly made skateboarding cool decades earlier. It was catchy, and it catapulted her career, but it is a form of mental torture to be subjected to this excuse of a song everywhere you go. Gladly this is becoming a dying phenomenon as Avril Lavigne slides away from popular music, but there is still a substantial proportion of the population who cannot see a skateboarder without feeling the urge to burst out with the pop song.
