10 Real-Life Curses That (Supposedly) Killed People

10. The "My Way" Killings

Unlike many of the other entries on this list, the "My Way" killings don't involve an ancient artefact or supposed black magic. Instead, it refers to a phenomenon in the Philippines, wherein an unusually high number of people were killed due to the singing of Frank Sinatra's song "My Way" in Karaoke bars. The bizarre occurrences took place primarily in the last decade, during which up to ten separate incidents allegedly took place. One of the most reported on killings was in 2007, when a 29-year-old karaoke singer was shot and killed while singing "My Way". The shooter was allegedly the bar's security guard, who had complained that it was being sung badly shortly before killing the man. Other incidents have involved the persons involved in singing Sinatra's hit attacking any critics of their rendition. There have been claims that "My Way" is simply one of the most popular karaoke tracks to sing along to, and that the actual song's content is irrelevant. This has done little to quash the rumours though, and the song continues to be banned from a number of karaoke bars across the country.
