If you're a fan of Harry Potter and you know that a trip to Universal is in the cards, why not go during A Celebration of Harry Potter?!

Usually taking place at the end of January, A Celebration of Harry Potter is the biggest fan event dedicated to the world that J.K.Rowling created.

The event has a convention like atmosphere where you can watch panels, demonstrations and generally hang out with other Potter loving Muggles. There are lots of guests in costume too so if you fancy showing off your cosplay skills then you can really go for it!

This year's Celebration involved some great panels with demonstrations from wand choreographer Paul Harris, creature effects Nick Dudman and talks from graphic designer MinaLima. Kids could get involved with the Dance Like a Beauxbatons, Battle like a Durmstrang panel.

Each year there is also a panel featuring the stars of the movies. This year was quite a star-studded panel with Warwick Davis, Matthew Lewis, Jason Isaacs and Tom Felton. Each of the cast members took questions from the audience with some quite revealing results. Turns out Jason Isaacs originally auditioned for the role of Gilderoy Lockhart, Matthew Lewis lost his keys at last year's event and Tom Felton was bullied at school for his involvement in the film.

A Celebration of Harry Potter wouldn't be complete without the Expo and this year's was bigger than ever before. Spread across two massive soundstages there were exhibitions by Pottermore, Scolastic and Lego Dimensions.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London had a large display showcasing some of their creature effects. There was a full sized Aragog spider on display to celebrate the announcement of the opening of the Forbidden Forest.

Despite there being so much to see, Universal have made sure that you can still see what everything else going on at the parks. They cleverly scheduled the events and panels sporadically throughout the day, giving you time to enjoy the rest of the park.

This year's event was announced in August 2016 so keep checking out the Universal website to find out details for when next year's event will be released.
