Firstly, how this robot differs from the other humanoids on the list is that it has tendon-driven joints, allowing it to move more accurately like a human, making this fascinating to watch. It's soft to the touch and is very reactive, compensating when being pushed and resuming it's position by using muscle imitation. It's face is able to express emotion by moving it's eyes and mouth, and blushing when embarrassed. It's also the first of two robots in this feature that has the appearance of a child, making it joint first position for cutest robot too. Unveiled in Zurich last year, Roboy will stand at 3.9ft. He's a little one, but he's built to one day be a perfectly sized helper for the elderly, also doubling as company. The project is open-source, so dig out your 3D printers, free up about 200,000 euros and get involved.
