If anyone has ever read the book Sex on the Moon by Ben Mezrich, then you'll already know the tale of Thad Roberts and his plans to do something very interesting with a bunch of stolen Moon rocks.

Roberts was a high-flying NASA co-op with dreams of obtaining multiple degrees and becoming an astronaut. He also had dreams of pinching some of NASA's most prized possessions.

With help from a team of accomplices, Roberts stole 101 grams of Moon rocks from NASA's Johnson Space Centre in Houston, Texas. Guess you could say they had a problem...

If this wasn't bad enough, Roberts also pilfered some dinosaur bones from his university. He also reportedly laid the rocks out on his bed and proceeded to get down and dirty with his girlfriend on top of them. Hence the whole "Sex on the Moon" thing.

The young man and his fellow thieves were caught in an FBI sting when trying to sell the rocks and were sentenced to time in jail.

Yet again though, can he truly be blamed? How many students would have killed for the chance to say they bonked in space? They're only human.
