10 Secrets You Didn’t Know About NASA

4. Condom Issues

Human men are complicated animals.

They have very limited intelligence in certain situations, their personal hygiene often leaves a lot to be desired, and they seem utterly incapable of throwing their socks into the laundry basket. Doesn't mean they won't try again next time, though.

They're also very very sensitive about their manhoods. Ask a man how much he's packing down there and the answer can vary anywhere up to four times the actual size! This normally isn't a major problem (unless you're in the adult film industry), but, in the world of space travel, exact measurements are essential.

Before any spaceflight, NASA astronauts with a penis have special condoms made for them. These special sheaths make up part of the onboard urination system and must be an exact fit for the member in question, otherwise they won't work.

Originally, NASA gave their spacemen a choice of three sizes - small, medium, and large. However, this had to be scrapped when too many people chose the large ones - even if they were way too big.

How did they get around this? They renamed the sizes to large, gigantic, and humongous. Well played, NASA, well played.
