10 Shocking Real Life Vampire Stories You Won't Believe
6. Rod Ferrell
This fellow isn’t just an example of a vampire; he’s also a murderer and unfortunately, the poster child for insanity in the state of Florida.
Ferrell was the leader of a gang of teenagers from Kentucky that called themselves the “Vampire Clan.” He murdered the parents of a fellow clan member, Heather Wendorf, in Eustis, Florida in 1996. He was only sixteen years old at the time, but nonetheless, he was convicted and sentenced to death, though his sentence was later reduced to life in prison.
Ferrell told people that he was a 500 year old vampire named Vesago. He led his clan to participate in vampiric activities, including drinking blood, hanging out in cemeteries and engage in sexual festivities that no doubt rivalled the transmission of disease in Outbreak. How did he get the idea to play Vesago? Because he took his character in Vampire: The Masquerade a little too seriously, having built his life around a role playing game.
A psychologist who reviewed Ferrell before his trial stated that he had the emotional age of a three year old at the time of the killings. A well earned degree there.
