10 Signs That We're Headed For The Robot Uprising
2. We Keep Feeding Them Data To Make Our Lives Easier
The Internet of Things is the term given to the huge network of computers and devices that all connect up in our "smart" society.
Now that we live in a world in which your fridge can have Twitter and Google knows enough about you to find you when you go missing, sharing your data with a variety of databases and supercomputers has become a matter of convenience.
It's not just that we are able to connect with our devices, but our devices are able to connect with each other. Some time in the not-so-distant future, your watch might access your diary and use the information to tell your kitchen to start preparing dinner in time for your arrival home from work, all without going through you. Just this morning, my alarm went off, which triggered my phone to connect to a bluetooth speaker and begin playing a specific spotify playlist. Sure, I told it to originally, but that was month ago, it's doing it on its own now.
If our devices continue to talk to each other, we continue to feed them data and we continue to encourage them to learn on their own, who knows what they could be plotting up there in the Cloud.
