10 Signs That You're The Black Sheep Of The Family

If you're not sure who it is in your family, then it's you.

Chances are, if you are the black sheep of the family, then you'll know about it. Unfortunately for you, you were born as the runt of the litter and your family aren't exactly pleased with your existence. At the very worst, you're the stereotypical black sheep - an alcoholic, drug addict, gambler and a constant disappointment to your family - who needs to sort their life out because no one likes a scrounger who turns up drunk to family parties with their dealer. But not every black sheep is as dramatic as that though, and it may just take something little for you to trigger off your family's wrath. You may be an atheist in a family of Christians (although Christians who don't accept someone else's religious opinion aren't really good Christians), unemployed, a party animal or you didn't stick in at school; all of these attributes can make you the black sheep and make your parents wonder where they went wrong. However, being the black sheep of the family doesn't make you a bad person, it just means that you're different. You see things differently, have you own opinions, and you're probably the only one on your side so it feels like you're fighting a losing battle. You probably have a different lifestyle to those in your family and you're someone who would rather follow their dreams and be happy - even if your dream is to work in a bar for the rest of your life - and your parents can't understand that. It's your life and you need to understand that not everyone is going to agree with you, but ultimately you need to do what is right for you.
