10 Social Situations Where Everyone Just Ends Up Embarrassing Themselves

10. Falling Over

Thought being able to stay upright was easy, huh? Wrong! Taking a little tumble in public is one of the most embarrassing moments in anyone's life... unless you are either a toddler - in which case people will assume you are rubbery enough to bounce back unscathed - or happen to be in your twilight years (in this scenario, everyone will rush over to ensure that you are not damaged in any way, a bit like an antique vase). The initial fall itself is bad enough. You have broken the illusion that you were actually graceful and swanlike... or at the very least, in complete control of your limbs, only to be so disastrously proven wrong in gravity's all powerful grasp, hurtling towards the ground in an undignified flurry. It gets worse - if you fall over in public, you will not only embarrass yourself, but everyone around you, immediately putting your onlookers into a social etiquette grey area that is notoriously tricky to navigate: "Should I see if they're OK? Is it OK to laugh? Maybe it was merely a bit of performance art?" What happened?!
