10 Subjects Guaranteed To Start An Argument

10. TV Spoilers

This one was never really a problem until the advent of social media and the rise of the entertainment news website. Now, every television show is dissected by eager fans literally as it is airing and by thousands of entertainment websites immediately after the credits roll. Thus, it is almost impossible to avoid plot developments online. Anyone who isn't up to date with Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad knows that they cannot hope to be safe from spoilers unless they completely avoid the internet, their friends and indeed the world until they have caught up. It's inevitable that at least one friend will just be a little too enthusiastic in their desire to talk about the newest episode. All you need to say around some people is "Red Wedding" and a grenade of plot points quickly explodes from their mouth. In today's world, very few people watch TV programmes during their original airing and so plot spoilers are a real problem. If you love a show and want to tell your friends all about it, it's certainly best to check with them first. Otherwise, they might well go a little Westeros on your arse.
