10 Sure-Fire Signs You're Turning Into Your Mother

9. Keeping Things 'For Best' Occasions

Surely all of your clothes should be for best? Well, yes, that's a lovely theory, but let's face it - not every item of clothing you have is designed to be the height of sophistication, elegance, and taste. That's fine - not everyone needs to go out to the gym or run to the shops in an outfit they spend an hour curating. However, some items of clothing are special. Some need savouring. That's one sign of when you start to become like your mother - when you start deliberately saving your clothes for best. You only wear this certain outfit in the most hallowed or respected of occasions - no nice dinner out with your friends or drinks with colleagues following work will do. You consider special treatment for these clothes, and maybe bring them out over the festive period in an occasion where you can minimise the amount of potential spillage and damage to your treasured outfit or garment. Now when your mum mentions the special jumper, or brings out the shoes that she only wears at Christmas, you can sympathise.
