4. You Start Rejecting New Technologies And Media

Technologies and new media are a largely generational existence - every generation, for the past hundred years or so, has had their own distinct technological advance or new form of emergent media. Telephone, silent films, talking pictures, computers, the Internet, Facebook, Twitter... the list goes on and on and on. The only problem is that at some point, you start to turn into your mother, and start actively rejecting some -if not all - of this new non-essential technology and media. Facebook and Twitter might be making sense right now - after all most of your high school friends and former work colleagues are rocking around on those and you can't lose those contacts - but give it five years and another new social media will be the height of fashion., and it just won't make sense.
