The UK, some say, is leading the way in a gastronomic revolution taking the world of cuisine by storm. The likes of Tom Kerridge, Jamie Oliver and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall (also front runner for Most English Name Ever accolade) have reinvigorated what it is to cook with exciting UK ingredients. Yet for some reason, people still seem to have a preconception that UK dwellers are responsible for grisly medieval concoctions featuring lard, pastry and dead animals in abundance that would make Conan the Barbarian reach for the Rennies. You ever had Stargazy Pie? Google it then come back and apologise.
