8. He Used 13,000 American Militia-Men To Quell A Domestic Uprising

George Washington Battle In 1791 Alexander Hamilton, the Secretary of the Treasury, announced a new taxation of Whiskey in order to fund a central bank. The reliance upon the American rural population on whiskey as the 'water of life' as it staved off water-born diseases led to the outbreak of domestic violence in the newly established Republic. Washington led his citizens too Pennsylvania too crush the uprising, but by the time he arrived the discontented citizens had dispersed. Although he is not the only US President to come from a military background, he is the only one too fully lead an army into battle as President; Could you imagine President Obama leading a charge of tanks into the next country to be invaded by America?
