10 Things Only Stephen King Fans Will Understand

4. Anticipating New Adaptations

With such a vast, unending body of work, it's inevitable that many of King's amazing stories are being adapted for the screen. While this is an exciting prospect, it can also be pretty daunting, too.

Book fans above all others know what it's like to anticipate an on-screen adaptation. So much of what makes writing special is the reader's ability to bring their own thoughts, feelings and imaginations to the table, which often leads to immensely personal connections with specific characters and stories. With all that being said, King fans are currently looking forward to the 2016 adaptation of 11/22/63, based on the 2011 best-selling novel of the same name. 11.22.63 is set to star James Franco as a high-school English teacher who winds up travelling back in time in an attempt to prevent the assassination of JFK. The question on many fan's minds, then...will it actually be any good? Or will it be a story that should have stayed firmly between the pages?
