10 Things You Didn't Know About Disney's The Jungle Cruise
6. One Of The Boats Actually Sank
The boats at the Jungle Cruise are christened with names that represent different waterways of the world such as Kissimmee Kate, Amazon Annie and Irrawaddy Irma. Probably one of the most aptly named boats in the fleet is located at Walt Disney World, the Sankuru Sadie.
In 2004 at Walt Disney World, Sankuru Sadie began to take on too much water and actually sank.
Luckily for guests the water on the Jungle Cruise isn't as deep as it looks (about 6 ft in places) and is actually dyed so that you can not see the bottom.
Sankuru Sadie was soon back in service and no one was reported injured in the event.
