Just because you are travelling solo it doesn't mean that you are on your own.

Social media and smart phones mean you are never more than a few taps away from all your friends and family. Make use of your phone's camera to send pictures to those back at home. Document your trip using one of the hundreds of apps, be it photographically through Instagram or journal wise with Tripcast.

Your phone also keeps you entertained whilst you're stood in a queue or sat in a restaurant. No need to bring a bulky book to keep you entertained in the lines for attractions, your phone can hold that too. Why not even download a hidden Mickey's app that will allow you to spot the discrete silhouettes of the famous mouse as you travel?

Just make sure you bring a power bank with you to stop your battery dying when you want to take that all important selfie in front of the Cinderella Castle.
