I'm not saying go out and meet some new BFFs but being a solo traveller often means it's easier to start up a conversation with a fellow vacationer.

Being stuck on a slow moving monorail can give you the perfect opportunity to chat to a family about their vacation. Sometimes when you are with others it's easy to become wrapped up in your own group that you don't really talk to anyone else. Being a solo traveller frees you up to learn more about the people around you.

Cast Members often go out of their way to chat to you if they see you are dining alone. I once had a great interaction with someone whilst grabbing a bite to eat in a quick service location. It was cool to learn a little about them and it brightened up my lunch.

Some Walt Disney World forums have threads specifically for solo travellers. Here people arrange to meet up within the parks or just share hints and tips on travelling on your own to the parks.
