10 Types Of People You Will Meet In Fresher's Week
3. The One Who Is Out Of Their Depth
They shouldnt have gone to university. It is as simple as that. Their school probably pushed them to go to university to better their statistics, but they struggle to cope with the workload and the independence. They might like to have constant reassurance and academic support, like they did at school, but they will not get that in the higher education facilities. Imagine if Niel from the Inbetweeners was given the chance to go to university. He would undoubtedly struggle, and would truly be caught out of his depth. Trawling through copious amounts of literature in order to write an essay is not something that comes easy to them, and they struggle with the transfer from secondary school specialism to the individual style workload of university style education. They feel isolated and are struggling with adapting to this new lifestyle, so be a good Samaritan and help them out. It truly is an isolating and scary time when you begin at university, and while some people inevitably thrive in these situations, others do not cope as well. It is important to make as many new friends as possible in Freshers Week, so spark up a conversation with anyone you can.
