https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=971zEK-Q7O4 Inspired into photography when her mother was diagnosed with a brain tumor, English photographer Kirsty Mitchell become engrossed in street portraiture. She would go outside and look for people to photograph who reflected how miserable she herself felt - and later turned the camera inwards towards herself, documenting her own feelings through such a traumatic stage of her life. Having recently found success with a project entitled Wonderland which took five and half years in the making, Kirsty won two international prizes in 2014 and is now represented by galleries in London and the Netherlands.
