10 Ways The Universe Could Kill Us All Tomorrow If It Wanted To

3. A Dark Galaxy

You might already be familiar with the concept of galaxies roaming around the universe and, every so often, colliding with one another. Depending on how densely packed with stars they are the result is either a spectacular merging, a harmless cross over, or a horrifying annihilation. In a few billion years, our galaxy is going to merge with the Andromeda galaxy, and scientists aren't totally sure yet how bad that might be for us. Chances are we won't be around to see it anyway. However, Andromeda is a galaxy that's visible. There are a load of galaxies out there - something like 94% of the total in fact - that aren't because they're made up entirely of blackholes and dark matter. They're roaming around just as freely as anything else. One could smash into us at any moment, but we'd be treated to the most amazing visual feast of stars exploding, black holes throwing entire solar systems around, and the laws of gravity all just giving up and going to sleep. Before, obviously, all life on earth being torn to shreds in the most violent ways imaginable.
