We were fans of Doug Hutchison back when he was creeping the socks off viewers of The X-Files as the incredibly long-lived, elongating Eugene Victor Tooms in the paranormal drama's breakout first season. He went on to play a weasel of a prison guard in The Green Mile, and did a great job there as well. Then he just sort of faded into guest roles on whatever happened to on television over the years, and that was fine - Hutchinson was a solid actor, but not a leading man or anything close. We'd almost forgotten him until he married the sixteen year old blonde bombshell Courtney Stodden in May of 2011. To hear Courtney's mother tell it, Doug was actually the least creepy of all Courtney's suitors (we suspect most were oversexed teenage boys), and he was just enough of a celebrity for Courtney to hitch her name to: literally, since she married Hutchinson, who was in his early 50s. They did the reality show thing. They were all over the press. Stodden turned into a living, breathing barbie doll. And as expected, it all came to an end - just later than most of us expected. As it turns out, they managed to last two and a half years as a married couple. Which, frankly, puts them further ahead than a lot of marriages in Hollywood. Just when you thought that was the end of it, however, the pair are back together and planning to renew their wedding vows. Courtney is now 20, and Doug 54 - and still proving that age is just a number.
