Lovecraft's Untold Stories

From time to time we all suffer a bit of the old writer's block, as I'm sure my colleagues here at WhatCulture would agree. Thankfully though, it has never gotten so bad that I've been forced to move to the outskirts of a town facing a church that has entombed the ancient embodiment of evil. Seems a bit of a niche issue now that I say it aloud.

A man not so lucky would be Robert Blake, who moves into the quaint little city of Providence, Rhode Island where he becomes fascinated with a church overlooking his lodgings. Filling him with an inspiration for the occult, it isn't long before Blake is sneaking in to the disused building despite the sinister warnings from the locals regarding the church's disturbing history. Ever the skeptical academic, Blake's insatiable curiosity overcomes him and he is drawn deeper into the church and the mysteries it holds.

While this story is certainly one of the more simplistic tales from the Lovecraftian pantheon, by no means does it lose any of the cold suspense that many of his more complex tales are famed for and it provides a definitive look at the otherwise vague and incomprehensible threats that plague this undefined universe.
