12 Dangerous Things Anti-Vaxxers Believe That Are Actually Child Abuse
11. Ignorance Is Not A Defence For Making Poor Medical Choices
Perhaps the most ironic thing about Andrew Wakefield’s conflict of interest and intent to patent his own vaccine by creating distrust about his competition, is that anti-vaxxers still regard him as a hero – while dismissing supporting evidence for vaccine science citing “conflict of interest” and “conspiracy theories” on behalf of “Big Pharma”.
As the anti-vaccine movement grows, so does the irrational beliefs and fears of its members. Make no mistake – the anti-vaccine movement isn’t about vaccine skepticism, it isn’t about wanting safer vaccines and it isn’t about the healthcare of children. The anti-vaccine movement is based largely on a group of people wanting to hold onto their belief systems, hold onto their distrust and fear of science, a hatred of people who happen to be autistic, all the while wanting to continue to feel like they are correct in everything that comes out of their mouth-anuses.
Irrational fears, a lack of scientific training and critical thinking skills and a heavy dose of belief in conspiracy theories has resulted people doing dumb sh*t to their kids in the name of parenting: chemical castration, bleach enemas, drinking urine to name a few.
Are you mad yet? You should be.
