12 Things People Who Are Always Grumpy Will Understand

Happiness is over-rated.

It's not that you're bitter and or that you're cynical, but because there are so many happy people in the world, you need to create a balance by being grumpy. If anything, you're doing everyone a favour by making an emotional equilibrium. Of course you have your moments of feeling truly happy and blessed but you're not the sort of person who likes to show it, in case anyone wants to share it. So your grumpy face and your constant frown protect you from unwanted social interaction too. You probably do believe that the glass is half empty, but that doesn't necessarily make you a bad person, it just doesn't always make you a joy to be around. Anyway, only the grumpiest of people can be entirely comfortable with their life and not be bothered about making any new friends. Besides, you're (moderately) happy with the ones that you have anyway. You don't feel the need to impress anyone or tip toe around people's feelings because you like to be the person who reminds them that the truth does hurt. And life needs those people. You mainly speak your mind which is probably why you're not everyone's biggest fan, but that's also because you don't care about being popular - why don't people understand that you enjoy your own company? You have a very select amount of people that you can actually tolerate and they should be thankful that you're allowing them into your life because despite what everyone says, you're a hoot - but a grumpy one at that.

12. You'll Disconnect The House Phone Most Days

Most people who call your house are just wanting to sell your things, inform you that you've won the lottery without having ever bought a ticket and worst of all, people will want to talk to you. Unfortunately for them, you don't have time for that. When you're at home, you don't want to be interrupted and having people trying to ring your landline and then your mobile is too much; it's like they don't understand that you don't want any human interaction. So you'll probably switch off both phones and enjoy the peace and quiet, until someone has the audacity to knock on your door...
