7. Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

In the 1934 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Mickey made his debut as a 40 feet tall balloon. According to Disney, the balloon was hand-painted and was led by costumed men and woman.

He wasn't the first cartoon ballon to appear, Felix the Cat beat him to it in 1927 a whole year before Mickey made his debut to the world.
