13 Places We Might Go When We Die

3. Bliss

Many cultures believe, whether after one life-time or many, that true heaven is a place of absolute peace, love and joy - that once we, as souls, have attained enlightenment, that our soul merge with all the other perfect souls, that we cease to be individuals, but become part of a universal consciousness. Once we are this pure light energy, that is it; for all time, we're part of this greater union, which each soul strives for on a base level. It is said that we are always yearning to be at peace, in eternal bliss, and that, on earth, we use anything we can to feel that 'high' - even if it is a temporary fake one through drugs, sex, sky-diving, gambling, whatever makes you feel good. That merging of souls into one is believed to be the ultimate heaven - not the virgins and the harps and the pearly gates.
