With two great cinemas right across the road from each other, it was always worth attempting to get into your second choice (cough, Odeon) when the first wouldn't let you in. Still; if you did manage to make it into seeing The Others when you were really too young, it was a triumph unbeatable by anything else. It didn't matter that you were plagued by nightmares involving Nicole Kidman for weeks afterwards; the popcorn (which used to be so cheap!) and coke totally made up for it.
