Not only will you get to see some deer, squirrels and a variety of birds whilst you're in the area, the friendliest out of them are probably the seagulls that will hound you to be your friend at Whitesands. They just have a lot of love to give and because they enjoy your company and are interested in what you ordered from Greggs, they'll sit on your head because they just want to be close to you. They'll refuse to get out of your way when they're on the pavement because they believe that you're equals and one shouldn't move for the other, but walk together.
