Consider the ways stammering can improve your life. For one, stammerers tend to be articulate. In a time when many people talk too much and think too little, we’re not blabbermouths. We save ourselves the aggravation of speaking when we’re unsure if something’s worth saying. Stammering gives us a chance to think.

Also, stammering can put others at ease. We live in a culture that fears embarrassment and humiliation above all, so allowing yourself to be vulnerable can actually be refreshing to those around you.

Anyway, you try to stay positive. Stammering lets us experience language differently than 99% of the world. In a crowded society, everyone wants to be weird and unique. We get to live with the certainty that indeed we are.
