11. You'll Cry When You Miss The Phone

You will literally sob into your pillow and your cat's face. The first few days after they've been deployed are always the hardest because you're out of your normal routine and it will feel like you're missing a limb. Unfortunately, that limb happens to be the love of your life. You'll keep your eyes glued on your phone, checking that you have signal, making sure that the landline is working and if you're planning on Skyping; making sure that you have a constant internet connection. And then it happens, you think you'll have a quick shower because you haven't bathed since they left. Did you hear the phone ring? Like a naked, wet and slightly cleaner than you were before ninja, you'll jump out of the shower with shampoo still in your hair, run to your phone and you'll have just missed their call. It will be devastating.
