The Project:
This is the first-ever documentary to chart the history of grindcore, a genre that although may not be radio friendly, has an ardent fanbase and an ever-growing commercial appeal. As described by director Doug Brown, 'this is a project that I believe is very important, as this is an element of heavy metal and punk history that often gets overlooked.' Judging by the footage already taken, where Doug has roped in the likes of Napalm Death's Shane Embury, F*ck The Facts' Mel Mongeon and seasoned player Dave Witte, this one looks set to be a scream.
Who's Behind It?
By day, Toronto-born Doug currently teaches Film Studies at a local high school, but in his spare time works ferociously on projects such as this.
The Goal:
In order for Doug and co to get to the likes of Maryland Deathfest and Obsecene Extreme to interview vital players in the genre, they need to reach a goal of $12,000. Find out more
