Distracting thoughts about your health could go as far as interfering with necessary daily tasks such as doing your job. We seem to lose control of our brain's work mode and go off to the toilets to fight off a panic attack. Once we've calmed down we'll spend regular periods of the working day veering away from our duties so our internal thoughts can complain about how we supposedly have a life threatening illness. We're now at the stage where hypochondria takes over your life.
11. Doctor's Waiting Rooms Make You Nervous
So you've decided enough is enough. Let's let a professional put your mind at ease. You're still nervous, though. You enter a busy waiting room and have to wait quite some time to see your doctor. All that waiting means a racing mind and heartbeat. You're concerned it could be the final countdown to the bad news. What if they do find something? What if all my organs are failing? What if I need some really risky, terrifying surgery? Or you may just be concerned the doctor will raise her eyebrow in disbelief once she sees you walking in... again.
10. You Have Regular Nightmares Your Teeth Are Falling Out
What does that actually mean, anyway? All we know is, at the time, it seems very real and could be a sign you obsessively think about being unhealthy to the point of dream invasion. One tooth comes loose and then another. Next thing you know half your teeth are missing. You might even attempt to put them back in. Thankfully you always wake up to your lovely, lovely teeth intact. Shall we brush our teeth now? I think so! And floss. And mouthwash. And then we shall stare at our teeth in the mirror for several minutes. Oh my gosh, what is that?! Oh, hang on, it's just your filling. Calm down.
