15 Problems Only People Living In Dubai Will Understand

15. The Hair-Raisingly Bad Drivers

There isn't a country in the world that doesn't have its fair share of bad drivers. The British are far from the worst in the world (although anyone who has experienced the M25 during rush hour might question that statement) while driving in a bustling South East Asian city is a surefire way to risk life and limb. Dubai has its own rules when it comes to surviving on the roads, the first one apparently being to drive as fast as humanly possible at any given opportunity. No doubt this is partly on account of the number of people driving huge muscle cars or sleek, ultra-fast sportscars - whatever the reason, even the frequent speed cameras do little to make driving in Dubai any less hair-raising. Needless to say Dubai has more than its fair share of traffic-related fatalities, so much so, in fact, that the Dubai police had to call on members of the public to help them track down violators, introducing a smartphone app titled, "We are all the police".
