15 Problems Only People Who Work For A Pub Chain Will Understand

6. Not Knowing Anything About Wine

Learning the wines for sale without having proper wine tasting sessions makes for an interesting conversation when a customer asks you about a particular bottle of Merlot you had no idea you even sold. "Uuumm, so it's from...Australia? It tastes of...grapes? It's...red?" You are not a sommelier. You are just working 16 hours a week to pay for your social life, and wines are only important to you personally if they're being poured into your mouth and going straight into your stomach. You find yourself lying more and more often to wine buyers just to avoid unveiling the fact that you know literally nothing at all.
