15 Problems Only People Who Work For A Pub Chain Will Understand
14. Navigating The Pub Garden In The Summer
For a punter, the pub chain beer garden is the place to be during the summer. Table upon table of happy people drinking beers and ordering pub grub and having a generally fantastic time while burning away under the British sun. We've all been that person who loudly expresses how f**king great the summer time is while brandishing a pint of Strongbow and a cigarette - because let's face it, summer time in a pub garden is bloody marvelous. However. You're the person working in the garden, taking out meals, cleaning tables covered in dirty plates with flies swarming over them, dropping the odd glass and having to listen to the whole garden yell 'Whheeeyyyyy!", while also trying to keep smiling even though inside you're dying. And sweating. And praying for your shift to end so you can join the drinkers and let your colleagues have to wait on you instead.
I love Stephen King and music festivals; I eat my toast upside down; I daydream about getting married probably a bit too much; and I wish every day for a pet sausage dog puppy (who never materialises – sob).
