You're out and about running some errands when suddenly you notice an old acquaintance from school. It's been years since you last spoke, so long that you've accepted their absence from your life. The last thing you want is for them to notice you and be drawn into a long conversation about what you've been up to all these years. You got things to do; places to be. So of course you try to evade their attention, all the while acting like you don't know they are there. You know it's nothing personal, but you haven't seen each other for so long that catching up is too much of a hassle. Maybe in different circumstances you'd be more willing to invest the time, but for now your hope is that they never realize you're there.
