12. The Spider Covering Secrets In The Haunted Mansion

If you're brave enough to visit the Haunted Mansion, be sure to keep an eye out for a well placed spider overlooking the dining room. There is a large glass pane that overlooks the dining room where the ghosts are dancing and eating, and to the right of the glass, there is a spider covering what seems to be a small hole. Legend has it that this small hole was caused by a young boy shooting a BB gun or a slingshot to the glass in the 70s and it hasn't been fixed since. It's not like Disney to ignore something like this, so can it really be fixed? When in doubt, cover it with a spider's web... Can you count how many Ravens are in the Haunted Mansion too? There are quite a few as the bird was originally intended to be the narrator of the attraction until the 'Ghost Host' was cast instead. It's also a nice nod to Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven:
"While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. €œ€™Tis some visitor,€ I muttered, €œtapping at my chamber door€” Only this and nothing more.€
If you're extra nice to the staff, you should ask for a Death certificate on your way in and they'll have it ready for you on your way out.
