16 Things All Lovers Of Spin Classes Will Understand

9. 30 Seconds Feels Like Six Minutes

Time scales are important during a session and this all comes to the instructor being able to count or look at their watches correctly. Of course, when the majority of them say 'ten more seconds' and a minute has passed, you know what kind of people they are. They're liars. If part of the workout involves standing sprints, you'd like to know how long you have to do them for because anything longer than a minute means that you have to pace yourself. So when the instructor says that you're doing them for 30 seconds, you're now exhausted and you shouldn't be because thirty seconds isn't a long time, you begin to doubt yourself and all of the progress that you've made. Of course you look at the clock and it's been two and a half minutes. Maybe gym instructors have different time scales to normal people?
